Happy Halloween! Here is are some pics of how our pumpkins turned out. I wanted a polka-dotted pumpkin, while Jo's was more artistic and spooky. We couldn't put them on our front porch because the squirrels would've eaten them, so we kept them on our front windowsill. The only problem with this spot was that it is always warm in our house, so they got moldier than they would have had they been outside. Oh well, they were fun while they lasted.
Here is Jo, acting all spooky and ghost-like. This kind of reminds me of Blair Witch, which I still consider the scariest movie ever, by the way.
And now, on to our costumes! We decided to be the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. Everyone's seen the painting, but no one knows what it's called. Knowing that we'd have to explain our costume a bit, we decided we'd be a literal version of this iconic painting.

Here's our version. American Gothic. Haha! Get it?
After stopping by Jo's folks, we headed out to a small get together with some friends. Here's Jo, scaring everyone in the parking lot with the Squeegee of Death. It's hard to take him too seriously with a plate full of cute little "Snack-O-Lanterns" on the car's dash. Hollowed out oranges filled carved and filled with fruit. Aren't they precious?
Here's a shot of Chase, Kelsey (she's Quail Man from Doug) and Owen. Sabrina's taking the pic.
After hanging out at Owen's, we drove back to Longmont to play pool at the local pool hall. Jo got his pitchfork confiscated; I guess the securtiy guy at the door didn't think it would be a good idea to bring in a sharp steel object in a packed room full of lots of drunk people. Oh well.
A close up of the American Goths.
I had so much fun being part of a couples-costume with Jo. The first Halloween we spent together, we'd only been dating for a week or two, which is a bit too soon for a couples-costume. Last year I was in Thailand during Halloween, so I didn't want to miss this opportunity to dress up with Jo.
All in all, a very fun night. I can't wait until next Halloween, so we can come up with another costume.
